The CIFP Avilés is placed in Avilés, an important industrial area within Asturias, an autonomous region from northern Spain with around 1,081,000 inhabitants. Avilés area has around 83,000 inhabitants.
The Higher Education Vocational
Training School Avilés offers medium and high level two-year courses, which are
called “ciclos formativos” in Spanish, and ,besides, we offer special apprentice
courses for teenagers to be able to have access to vocational training studies
at medium level , and so help them to integrate back into the educative system
again. As an example, this year we have offered a total of 30 medium and high
level courses in their 2 years, first and second.There are around 1,400 students enrolled at our VET School.
We have been granted an Erasmus Charter since 2011 and this is our ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT. Though at present we are inside a Consortium together with other 5 Higher Education VET Schools from Asturias. REcently we have been granted the new ERASMUS CHARTER valid until 2020.
